Pergotenda all weather awning for Burneston school

The Pergotenda all weather awning by Deans has been successfully incorporated into numerous commercial schemes requiring all-weather protection, especially for renovation projects at restaurants and other places of entertainment where the all weather benefits of the product make it most suited. However, more recently the awnings system has increasingly been specified on both new build and refurbishment projects in the field of education.

An example of this is the Burneston Primary school in North Yorkshire where the brief was to provide flexible shelter for outside learning where the children could enjoy the fresh air yet remain safe and dry. Additionally, the requirement was for the cover to retract on fair days to allow maximum light into the play area and the school classroom.

The Pergotenda all weather awning system has recently been tested by the Instituto Giordano in Italy in accordance wit European directives which has shown the awning will support a load of 589 N/mq (approximately 60 kg) whilst maintaining its complete functionality. The result is 4,5 times higher than the data necessary to be part of the EN 13561 (class 3 - 132 N/mq) maximum wind resistance class. This effectively takes the product out of the scope of conventional sun awnings and means it may be installed and used in windy conditions up to Force 8 on the Beaufort scale.
