New porch screens at the Ranelagh North London

There was a requirement for the screens to be completely retractable and, when in place, should also allow customers to enjoy views of the garden and be able to see their youngsters in the garden play area.
Using a combination of awning and blind making crafts  roller blinds were produced in a heavy duty PVC with transparent window screens. The blinds incorporated 3.5 inch rollers with sealed gearboxes taken from our Lewens awning system ensuring years of reliable use.

Deans Blinds and the Fulham Football Club Connection

The Dean family, owners of Deans Blinds of Putney, were instrumental in the establishment of Fulham as a top class professional club. Three generations, John, Charles and Tony Dean, were sometime chairmen and one of Tony's brothers, Charles jnr, was another director. The original Dean, John, was Chairman when the club became a limited liability company in 1903 and joined the Southern League First Division.

He remained on the board until 1910 when he fell out with Sir Henry Norris, a fellow director. When Norris departed for Arsenal, Dean returned in 1920 and from 1925 until his death in 1944 was chairman. He ran the club in a paternalistic Victorian way. his company advertised on the back page of every programme and several former players were given jobs with Deans Blinds on retirement. Legend has it that he was known to have his lunch served on a table set up on the centre circle.

He was succeeded in the chair by his son, Charles Bradlaugh Dean until his death over Christmas 1958. The comedian Tommy Trinder, took over as chairman.
