Deans were asked by London architects Jan Hoch to supply a solution for a basement master bedroom suite in Central London, the overall design of the project was to be minimal and contemporary with emphasis on clean lines. The task was to supply and install a modern electric roof blind that would provide privacy and blackout qualities. The glass roof was 3m wide x 2m and they needed a blind without obtrusive cords or wires when the blind was opened, with the brief in mind Deans specified the SHY Zip roof blind system and as we were in during the building stage it was decided to hide the blind within the roof space keeping with our very particular brief. The client also asked for privacy from rooms above so it was decided that the blind would draw from the foot of the bed up towards the wall, this gives the clients privacy from overhead when required. The fabric chosen was Mermet Flocke in a beautiful bronze colour to make the blind a feature when closed and to tie in with the rest of the interior decor, we also added a further roller blind to the room in the same fabric. Overall the blind looks stunning working effortlessly from a remote control handset and fits within the brief given to us.
